Inflatables cover – peace of mind on the day

Inflatables, such as bouncy castles and the like, can really add a dimension to any sort of party or fete.

Children tend to love them and if the kids are occupied, then the chances are the thing that is occupying them is likely to be very popular with the parents also!

Today there are a vast range of inflatables available for rental at reasonable prices and it might be something that you are seriously considering.

If so, it is unfortunately necessary to get a little sober for a second or two and to think about things that are associated with inflatables that are less pleasant.  That might be a range of risks that come with the hire of the bouncy castle or similar, including things such as:

  • accidents involving the injury of children or possibly by-standing parents;
  • bad weather or other form of accident causing damage to the equipment you have rented.  You may find that the costs of replacing such items or even repairing them, are staggeringly high;
  • it is possible that the inflatable at your event might be responsible for the accidents of third parties – or damage to their property in, say, a situation where it broke loose and damaged somebody’s car.

This is clearly just a brief summary of some of the things that could go wrong and there may be many more like them.

Of course, nobody likes to think about this side of an event – i.e. of what might go wrong when hiring inflatables.

The reality of life is, however, that ignoring the potential risks won’t make them go away.  If misfortune strikes your event and your use of an inflatable, you may find yourself facing very substantial costs and it might be advisable to question how you would deal with them.

The good news is that there is a form of insurance available that might be able to help.  It is called inflatables cover and it is possible to take it out on a daily basis.

The cost of the cover is typically relatively modest but the peace of mind that it brings might be significant.

It is sometimes all too easy to forget when organising a pleasant social event that people’s attitudes can change very quickly.  Someone attending may be very well disposed to you and the surroundings but if they or their children are injured due to something you have provided on site, you may find that they very quickly hold you accountable and look to you for compensation.

It’s also worth bearing in mind that the organisations renting out inflatables might require you to hold some form of insurance cover before agreeing to deliver it to you.

Therefore, insurance is something that you might need to think about.
